The Coach House is close to the stunning west coast of the Isle of Man. Set in the rural plains of the central valley and at the foot of Peel Hill, the Coach House is an ideal base for walking and other outdoor activities, yet also close to the amenities of Peel and the main, and historic, transport networks.
Walking: the steam train heritage trail is close by as is Peel Hill, the coastal
footpath (Raad Ny Foillan), and various other inland walks, gardens and arbouretum.
Peel is 2 miles away (shops, bank, post office, churches, castle, museum, Cathedral, House of Mannanan,
WiFi at the Western Swimming Pool or the Toy Box). See for more about the Peel community.
St Johns is 1½ miles away (shop and post office,
tearoom, church, Tynwald Hill, Tynwald Craft Centre).
Wildlife: the area boasts a fine array of wildlife, including choughs, hen harriers, seals and basking sharks.

From the ferry (Douglas) 10 miles
From the Sea Terminal follow signs for Peel (A1), passing straight though the villages of Union
Mills, Glen Vine and Crosby to St. Johns.
At the traffic lights at St. Johns keep straight on, pass through the light controlled crossing and take
next left (opposite Tynwald Hill, 4 tiered hill).
After 200 metres take next right onto the Patrick Road (A30). Follow for 1½ miles. Ballamoar Farm is on the right.
Look out for the model black and white cow at the entrance and pillars with pineapples on top. Turn
into the main drive and over the cattle grid.
The narrow drive to The Coach House is just past the cattle grid on the left at the end of the main
drive. The car park is solely for the use of guests at The Coach House. |
